Carnival is one of the key pillars of the Trinidad and Tobago economy. It is
estimated that the
2016 total carnival visitor expenditure was approximately US$51 million.
Unfortunately, the
COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted this industry. After the announcement that
the “in
person” component of the carnival was cancelled for 2021, CARIRI partnered with
Banj, IDB
Labs and others to create the Creative Tech Lab TT: A challenge that aims to
connects creatives
and developers online and stimulate innovation and creativity that will lead them to
the co-
creation of a set of fun and sustainable TT carnival experiences available online
all year long for
the world to enjoy TT carnival anytime while supporting the digital economy of
Trinidad and
Tobago.
TT Phoenix Carnival is a VR application where you can enjoy the pleasure and the euphoria of Trinidad & Tobago Carnival in the comfort of your home, or wherever you may be. It also give people and artists an excellent opportunity to expose and enjoy TT Culture. More About The CLTT Challenge
